Michael J. Frantz has been elected to The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers as a Fellow. Election as a Fellow is the highest recognition by ones colleagues of sustained outstanding performance nationwide in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication and excellence. A formal induction will take place at the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section’s CLE Conference on November 10, 2018 in San Francisco, CA.
Fellows are recognized as distinguished members of the labor and employment community who promote achievement, advancement and excellence in the practice by setting standards of professionalism and civility, by sharing their experience and knowledge and by acting as a resource for academia, the government, the judiciary and the community at large. The College was established in 1995 through an initiative of the Council of The Section of Labor and Employment Law of the American Bar Association. It operates as a free standing organization recognizing those who, by long and outstanding service, have distinguished themselves as leaders in the field.
Mike’s practice is devoted to the exclusive representation of employers and their management teams in dealing with the full range of labor and employment issues. He has represented employers in contract negotiations with virtually every major union in the U.S. and Canada. Throughout his career he has focused on representing health care and higher education institutions, as well as manufacturing companies and service organizations. Mike’s practice also includes serving as outside general counsel for a number of his clients. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors or in other corporate positions for many clients. Mike currently serves as a member of the firm’s Management Committee that is charged with the responsibility of focusing on the strategic planning and overseeing the day-to-day administration of the firm. Mike earned his J.D. at Georgetown University and his B.A.,
magna cum laude, at the University of Notre Dame. He has been recognized at the highest ranking, Band 1, in the area of Labor and Employment by
Chambers USA: America’s Guide to Leading Lawyers in Business and designated Best Lawyers’ "2018 Lawyer of the Year" in Labor Law—Management in Cleveland. Mike is continuously named to The Best Lawyers in America and the Ohio Super Lawyers lists.
