Today the Department of Commerce issued a Level I medical marijuana cultivator provisional license to Greenleaf Gardens, LLC. This decision follows a ruling in Greenleaf’s favor in
PharmaCann Ohio LLC v. Ohio Department of Commerce holding that the provision which caused Greenleaf to initially be denied a license was unconstitutional on its face.
Greenleaf is now unique among Ohio’s medical marijuana industry, having obtained every license for which it applied, including five previously-awarded dispensary licenses and a processing license. Greenleaf’s CEO, David Neundorfer, has provided this statement:
“The entire Greenleaf team was excited to learn that we received a Level I medical marijuana cultivator provisional license today. At the same time, we know that our success carries with it an immense responsibility to Ohio’s patients and the communities in which we operate. As we now move forward as a vertically integrated operation, we are grateful that the Department of Commerce and Board of Pharmacy have given us this opportunity to work toward our ultimate mission: to be the true North for Ohio’s medical marijuana program.”
