Frantz Ward Attorneys Bradley D. Reed and Ryan T. Smith Elected to Partnership

Frantz Ward is pleased to announce that Bradley D. Reed and Ryan T. Smith have been elected to the partnership effective January 1, 2021. Bradley Reed is a member of the firm’s Business Law Practice Group and Ryan Smith is a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group.
 
Brad works on a wide range of corporate, transactional, regulatory, data privacy/cybersecurity, and employee benefits matters. Specifically, his practice focuses on working with hospitals, physicians, and other health care providers regarding complex regulatory and compliance issues. Brad regularly advises clients with respect to HIPAA compliance, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, health care fraud and abuse regulations, and medical staff management issues. He also works on a wide range of various data privacy and cybersecurity issues, including investigating data security incidents and advises clients with respect to data breach reporting, mitigation and responses.  Brad also regularly advises clients on financial services regulations, ERISA compliance, service provider and vendor agreement negotiations, and other commercial contracts for clients in numerous industries and sectors. Brad is driven by helping clients achieve their business needs and goals by assisting them to understand and navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment. He is named to The Best Lawyers in America’s One to Watch list in the area of Health Care Law and is named to the Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. Brad earned his J.D. from the College of William & Mary Law School and his B.A. from The Ohio State University.
 
Ryan focuses his practice on employment litigation and labor relations. He represents management in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies in a wide range of matters, including employment discrimination, retaliation, and harassment, wage and hour disputes, including class and collective actions, and breaches of non-competition and other types of employment agreements. Ryan also represents employers in traditional labor matters, at arbitrations and before the National Labor Relations Board. When not representing employers in active disputes, Ryan counsels them on key employment decisions such as wage and hour compliance, leave administration, and terminations, and on various aspects of the collective bargaining relationship. He also drafts employment agreements and policy manuals. He is named to The Best Lawyers in America’s One to Watch list in the areas of Labor and Employment Law-Management and Litigation-Labor and Employment and is named to the Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. Ryan earned his J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and his B.S. from Miami University.
