The BX was founded in 1881 by a group of contractors, suppliers and architects to facilitate the exchange of information between all segments of the construction industry. Today, it offers a wide array of services to over 2500 member companies, ranging from health insurance and social events to educational opportunities. The foundation of the BX is rooted in its construction reporting service.
For more than two decades, Ian has been a trusted advisor to the construction industry, dedicating his entire practice to all aspects of construction and surety law. He is frequently involved in large, technically complex construction projects around the country and overseas, whether developing contract documents to manage risk, counseling clients on claim management and performance disputes, acting as project counsel, or arbitrating and litigating claims. Ian is well known as a leader in construction, having been recognized in the area of construction by third-party rankings such as the prestigious Chambers USA (Band 1 Ranking), The Best Lawyers in America, and Martindale-Hubbell. Ian was the 2022 Best Lawyers' "Lawyer of the Year" in construction law in Cleveland. He has served numerous leadership roles in national construction organizations and is a Charter Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America.
