Frantz Ward is proud to announce that partner Michael N. Chesney is President of the Cleveland Employment American Inn of Court and will serve a term ending in June 2018. Mike was invited as one of the organization’s original members in 2005.
The Cleveland Employment American Inn of Court is comprised of attorneys who practice employment law as well as judges and law professors. The mission of the Inn of Court is to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility, and legal skills. Membership is by invitation only and based on a thorough evaluation and election by the judges, professors and lawyers who comprise the Inn.
Mike represents management in all aspects of labor and employment law, including representing employers in court, arbitrations, administrative proceedings, and other disputes. He advises companies, both large and small, on human resources issues and litigation prevention, including advice on terminations, compliance with employment laws, workplace investigations and the preparation of policies and employment agreements. Mike prides himself on providing strategic and practical advice to minimize the risk of employment litigation. Should litigation arise, Mike is a prepared, practical and aggressive advocate for his clients. He has successfully represented employers in single plaintiff and class/collective actions in state and federal courts, arbitration matters, and before administrative agencies throughout the country. Mike has an A.B. from Duke University and a J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame.
