Michael J. Frantz, Jr., Partner in the firm’s Construction Practice Group, has been appointed to the Board of Governors for the Ohio State Bar Association. Mike is the Representative for District 12, which governs Cuyahoga County.
The Board of Governors meets every other month to manage the Ohio State Bar Association’s business affairs, set policy, review pending legislation and conduct other business on behalf of the 22,000 Ohio lawyers who are OSBA members.
Mike is devoted to the professionalism and ethical duties involving the practice of law and is very active with the Ohio State Bar Association. In addition to his new role as the District 12 Representative, he also serves on the organization’s Council of Delegates, which considers legislative proposals from OSBA committees.
Mike dedicates his legal practice to the construction industry. He regularly assists his clients with preparing and reviewing contract documents, developing and implementing risk avoidance procedures, closing out projects, and managing project-related claims, such as breach of contract claims, delay and acceleration claims, differing site condition claims, and defective work/defective design claims. Mike also has an extensive understanding of the insurance and surety industries. He regularly assists his clients with insurance coverage disputes, preparing and responding to bond claims, and analyzing surety and indemnitor rights under General Indemnity Agreements. He maintains a multi-jurisdictional practice in Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Jersey. His extensive trial and appellate litigation experience allows him to advise clients on the best methods to avoid unnecessary, expensive litigation or aggressively defend/prosecute claims should litigation become necessary.
Mike received his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and his B.A. in Business Economics, with High Honors, from Michigan State University.
