Ralph P. Higgins, Jr., Partner in the firm’s Business Law Practice Group, is the recipient of the Distinguished Advisor Award from the Diamond Advisory Group of University Hospitals.
This award recognizes one member of the Diamond Advisory Group for their exceptional efforts in assisting clients in their support of University Hospital’s vision and mission as well as the member being a community leader. Ralph received this award during the Diamond Advisory Group meeting on September 16, 2020.
The Diamond Advisory Group members include legal, financial and other wealth advisory leaders who are University Hospitals (UH) patients or friends, or have an interest in the success of University Hospitals (UH). The members assist University Hospitals (UH) in fulfilling its mission as knowledgeable and informed ambassadors. Members provide seasoned guidance and expertise to their clients who are interested in supporting University Hospitals (UH). Diamond Advisory Group members also provide input to help the Institutional Relations and Development (IRD) staff to expand gift planning and fundraising efforts.
Ralph has over 35 years of experience counseling clients on estate planning, business succession, and transfer tax issues. He also has extensive experience in trust administrations, both as counsel to trustees and as a fiduciary. Ralph has helped administer and finalize a vast number of probate estates over the years. Ralph was named the 2018 Estate Planning Lawyer of the Year in Ohio by International Advisory Experts. In addition to being a member of the Diamond Advisory Group, Ralph is also involved in several other nonprofit boards and foundations including The Cyrus Eaton Foundation, The Arthur L. Parker Foundation and The LaRue Foundation. Ralph earned his J.D.,
cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame and his B.B.A.,
magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame.
